Taare Zameen Par.'Every child is special'
after watching the Hindi production on a child having reading and writing difficulties of dyslexia,i truly understood the meaning of 'taare zameen par'.my teacher screened the movie for my class as she felt it enable us to understand the difficulties of a dyslexic children.
in the movie,a eleven year old boy faces a problem of 'seeing dancing letters as he reads' and 'has wild imagination while trying to solve mathematical questions.'well,these are some of the symptoms of dyslexia.as the child's parents do not notice he is 'suffering' from this difficulty,his dad always reprimand him for flunking his test and untidy writing errors.as he do not realise having this symptoms,he do not understand why he was scolded.besides this,his brother,being the top student in the school,is in comparison with him,caused him more trouble.
fortunately,his substitute teacher,who was a victim of dyslexia,is the solution of his symptom.the teacher realised his problem and begun to find out the root of it.the teacher visited the boy's parents and explain what the boy is suffering from.the teacher then kind heartedly make time and help the boy by training him with patience and care.in the end,the boy manage to improve and overcome his difficulty just like how the teacher did in his time.
i felt that this production is excellent for teenagers like us to understand and experience the symptoms that some people are suffering from..

which aspects of your education do you think will be most useful to you in adult life?
Throughout the four years of education in secondary life, i think the four subjects that i had already been studying, the first language english, mother tongue, chinese, mathematics and sciences will be the most useful to me in adult life. Another special types of education, character development would also be useful as it teaches young, growing adults life values.
As english as the international language, people around the world has been using the international language, english, to communicate between people from different races and countries. It would be necessary to beable to read and write english in the society. Communication is a must in the working world for adult life. Many had been suffering for not knowing or does not have the ability to speak, write or read english. The second language, chinese is also important to me as it is as good as a bonus to me as it give me an opportunity to communicate with other people, especially the chinese population. It is easier for them to communicate as it is their first language.
Mathematics ans sciences are also considered very important to me as most jobs and courses includes a degree in mathematics and sciences. Great occupations like doctors, architects and accountants requires much knowledge in maths and sciences. Calculations are to be make to do any simple job. Sciences knoeledge is important to understand any theory or happening in the surroundings. Undertanding of these four knowledges plays a huge part in our adult life, whether it is sucessful or not.
The other subjects like history,geography,social studies and physical education althought does not serve as much help as the four mentioned earlier, they let us understand more of the past, present and future.
History tell us the past and let us understand how our present come about and great people we should be grateful of and learn from. Geography is a major subject that tell us the impacts of the things we are doing that cause disasters. Like the use of methane causes enhance global warmingthat can cause the earth to die. Solutions of these problems had been taught to the younger and future generations like us to save the earth for the future generation.
Character development is a unique subject as it teaches us important life values. It cannot be taught in textbooks and mostly through people's experience and helping the disadvantage. I had learnt alot for my adult life in my secondary education.
These subjects had played a huge role for my adult life when sfter my education ends.

My Favourite Food.
many individuals have their own favourite food,all prefers different food depending on themselves.as for me,I'm crazy over the westerners "greatest" creation,grilled fish.i was attracted by the dish not just by the aroma of the fish and the barbecue sauce,but also the heavenly taste of the perfect combination of the fish and sauce.it gives me an awesome impression since i tasted this divine dish.
despite its wonderful taste,it has a number of disadvantages.firstly,its not as filling as staple food like rice.its regular price is also quite expensive.because of these,i had always think twice before i want to spend my precious allowance on this dish.i also had times that my temptation caused me "bankrupt" for a few days and i end up loaning money from siblings.
although I'm addicted to grilled fish,I'm cannot eat it for every single meal as its not healthy.u might not agree with me,but in my own opinion,grilled fish might not be on par with "high class" dishes like shark's fin soup and lobster meat,i do consider it on the same standard as these dishes.

Dear Mrs. Yeo,
How have you been for the past few weeks? I really miss you. It has been months since we last saw you in school. It’s already our last year in Kent ridge secondary school. We are already preparing for the ‘o’ levels examinations. Time really flies; it’s been many months since you last taught us English.
Remember the time we use to make noise and create chaos in class during your lessons. I really cherish the times you talked to us in a motherly tone and a gentle voice. We had always defied your instructions and make you really furious at times; I’m really sorry and hope you would forgive us.
We had been through some activities and I would like to use this opportunity and share those memorable times with you. We also learnt many skills and a few life experiences.
We had a hands-on day on the first of February. It was a day where everybody did our community involvement program. Different levels were assigned different tasks. Only the secondary threes did their entrepreneurship activities. I hope they had fun according to what I experienced last year. Well, the secondary fours were given the t-shirts by the CIP committee. We visited the elderly in their one room flats. We were told to be kind and friendly towards them as they are all staying either alone or with one company. It’s rather unfortunate actually. Anyway, we packed a giant hamper specially for them. They were really happy to see us as well. Our task was to clean up their apartments and decorate it as Chinese New Year is just around the corner. I sure did had a hard time tidying the place as its seldom clean by volunteers. And I really miss the aging lady I helped.
We also would be having a school sports carnival during late march. I was elated after hearing this exciting event that is coming up. Ever since the school sports carnival two years ago, I had been hoping the school to organize another one. Well, it had been very fun from what I have experience.
All in all, the secondary four life to me is firstly more work, less fun and of course hard work pays off.

First Day of School
i had no idea what to do on my first day of school.i couildnt sllep the night before the big day.millions of thoughtswnt through my mind.scary-looking teachers to fierce-looking seniors.i was excited at the same time worried what was going to happen the following day.
as i reached the schoool compound,my first thought was to look for a familiar face so i would accompany.i still couldnt see any familiar person after a long time.buti had notied a couple of situations going around the school.i can easily identitfy these people and classify them though all are in the same uniform.students who are slighty vertically challenged who look worried like me are obviously a newcomers in this school.so me even have their parents or guardian accompanied.as expected,i manage to walk passed a groups of hooligans reluctanly.fortunately i didnt create any trouble and 'escaped' from them.it was a close shave.
during the briefing by the principle ms chamb,her lovely smile made me feel a sense of warmth from the school.her speech to us,secondary ones was meaningful.and that sweet,motherly toneshe uses to welcome us was heavenly.she went through all the important values and school motto.it took her a long while as her presentation included lots of interesting facts and she presented it loud and clear.later we had the vice-principal to give us a speech.followed by a briefing on the school's rules and regulations by mr koh,the disciline master.his appearance gave me an impression of a sportsman.he later had the school to have a round of attire check.those senior i met ealier had been called back for punishment.i guess this is secondary school life.
